VoteVets PAC Endorses Dr. Brian Williams in TX-32

Organization with a long record of electing Veteran leaders to Congress backs Air Force Veteran Dr. Brian Williams.

DALLAS, TX - Today, Dr. Brian Williams’ campaign announced that he has been endorsed by VoteVets PAC, the largest progressive group of Veterans in America, in his race for Texas’ 32nd Congressional District.

“Dr. Williams stepped up and served this nation in uniform as his father did before him,” said Jon Soltz, Iraq War Veteran and Chairman of VoteVets PAC. “With the skills he acquired, he could have gone anywhere and done anything, but he chose to pursue a career saving lives in their most desperate moment. Dr. Williams knows what weapons of war do in a way that most people will thankfully never have to know. In Congress, he’ll be uniquely positioned to advocate for sane gun laws that make this nation safer. We’re very proud to endorse him.”

Founded in 2006, VoteVets PAC has been helping Veterans and national security experts win elected office at the Federal, state and local levels since its inception. VoteVets PAC runs aggressive independent spending campaigns (over $100 million to date), raises and donates millions of dollars, and runs an innovative texting program in order to connect veterans and military families with other veterans and military families to get out the vote.

“I’m honored to receive VoteVets’ endorsement for my campaign for Congress,” said Dr. Williams. “As an Air Force Veteran and as the descendant of Veterans going back to the Civil War, I’m proud to build on their legacy of service before self, a value I learned as a youth watching my father put on his Air Force uniform every day. I’m humbled to join VoteVets’ tradition of electing more servant leaders who can use their experience to get things done for our communities, like getting weapons of war off of our streets.”

Dr. Brian Williams is an Air Force Veteran, trauma surgeon, and gun safety advocate. He is the son of a career Air Force non-commissioned officer, and himself a proud first-generation graduate of the United States Air Force Academy, Class of ‘91. Dr. Williams served six years on active duty as an aeronautical engineer directing classified developmental test programs.

Since announcing his candidacy, Dr. Brian Williams has traveled the 32nd Congressional District, taking his campaign directly to voters. His campaign raised more than $160,000 within the first 24 hours of his joining the race in May.
