As the descendant of a long line of veterans dating back to the Civil War, and as a veteran myself, I know the sacrifice the members of our armed services make when donning a uniform and taking the oath to support and defend our Constitution. No veteran should be without the healthcare, mental health services, or economic resources they need to thrive.

In Congress, I will work to: 

• Protect the VA Healthcare system against Republican attempts to force steep cuts that could lead to reduced services and patient care. I will also protect the rights of women veterans to continue to access reproductive healthcare services through the VA.

• Expand and strengthen the Veteran Treatment Courts in Dallas and Denton county, in order to help local veterans who are struggling get the support they need. 

• Expand access to mental health care for veterans through the VA and community programs in in order to fight our unacceptable epidemic of veteran suicide.

• Always have veterans’ back when they require assistance with the federal government and prioritize the needs of veterans in the 32nd District with support from my local office through ambitious constituent services.
