DEMOCRACY
I’m running for Congress because the threat to our democracy from extremists still exists.
As an officer in the United States Air Force, I took an oath to support and defend the Constitution from all enemies, foreign and domestic. I’m running for Congress because the threat to our democracy from extremists still exists. The violent insurrection on January 6, 2021 is proof of that. To preserve the ideals we value as Americans, we must hold everyone responsible who defiled our democratic ideals. Given the chance in Congress, I will support measures to do just that.
We must also protect future elections from interference at home and abroad, and I’ll stand up to any and all attempts to roll back hard fought voting rights. In a functioning democracy, we should make it easier, not harder, for Texans to vote. With bold leaders in Congress working to empower voters, we can preserve our democracy for the generations to come - but it will require the hard work, determination, and focus of every single one of us. I’m determined to take on that mantle in Washington.
In Congress, I will support:
Passage of the John Lewis Voting Rights Act.
Legislation to overturn the Supreme Court’s disastrous Citizens United decision so we can get money out of politics and ensure that our elected officials represent their voters’ interests - not their donors’.
